Applications Machine health monitoring in predictive maintenance Troubleshooting Route inspections Field service
Description The VSA-1215 Vibration Spectrum Analyzer is Datastick's high-performance vibration analyzer / data collector. It has twice the maximum frequency capability (20,000 Hz) and twice the FFT resolution (3,200 lines) as the VSA-1214.
The VSA-1215 hardware module attaches to a powerful Palm TX handheld computer and has a standard BNC connector and low-noise input that accommodates and powers almost any ICP®-type piezoelectric accelerometer. The VSA-1215 includes Datastick Spectrum handheld software and Datastick Reporting System™ PC software.
The VSA-1215 records and displays vibration FFT spectra in acceleration, velocity, and displacement, as well as acceleration waveforms. It also records and displays overall vibration with color-coded ISO (or custom) alert levels. For a full description of the display capabilities, see the description of Datastick Spectrum handheld software.
You Control the Power The VSA-1215 hardware module contains its own rechargeable Li-Ion battery and advanced power management capabilities that put you in full control of sensor power — allowing you to determine the exact amount of power output to the sensor. You can easily go all day on a single charge.
An optional 4800 mA/h rechargeable external battery pack is available if you need more power, and it gives you the added benefit of powering BOTH the VSA-1215 module and the Palm TX handheld computer. For more information, please see the full description of the VSA-1215 module.
Extremely Low Noise As good as the VSA-1214 is, the VSA-1215 does even better at finding low-level, low-frequency peaks. A typical noise floor at 4 Hz on a velocity spectrum made with an accelerometer is 0.0013 inches per second in the 2 g input range. If you need even lower noise, the VSA-1215 accepts ICP-type velocity sensors as well as accelerometers. For more information, please see the full description of the VSA-1215 module.
Sharp Color Display and Secure Storage The Palm TX has a unique rotating display which allows you to to view data in either vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape) orientations on its bright, razor-sharp 480 x 320 pixel screen. The Palm TX also features 100 MB of nonvolatile memory which keeps your data safe even if the battery drains all the way (which is highly unlikely, due to its efficient power management).
Virtually Unlimited Storage The VSA-1215 provides virtually unlimited, extremely secure storage capacity. In addition to the Palm TX handheld's 100 MB of nonvolatile memory — which will hold approximately 3000 spectra or waveforms — the VSA-1215 also lets you record data directly to a Secure Digital (SD) memory card, which you can insert into the handheld computer. The VSA-1215 supports SD cards of up to 2 GB capacity, and you can use as many cards as you like — you'll never run out of space.
At the end of the day, simply insert the SD card into a card reader on your PC to export the handheld data to your PC, or you can use the Palm handheld's HotSync® feature single to export data to your PC with a touch of a button. With another couple of mouse-clicks, your data is imported into Datastick Reporting System software on the PC for analysis, trending, reporting, and archiving.
Compact size, high performance, and the simple operation of the Datastick Spectrum software make the VSA-1215 an excellent vibration analyzer / data collector for route-based inspections and demanding troubleshooting and field service applications.
Rugged Enclosure Option For added protection from rough handling and the environment, the optional RC-4 Rugged Enclosure provides a splash-resistant, dustproof, impact-resistant shell that still allows access to the touch-screen controls for full operation.

Get answers IN the field. NOW. Get answers FROM the field. NOW.
You might maintain a small facility or a dozen large plants. You might be a field service organization, an independent contractor, or a lone consultant. No matter where you work, no matter how you work, the exclusive Datastick SiteConnex VSA-2215 system opens the door to increased efficiency and cost savings while you maintain and improve machine reliability.
Datastick® SiteConnex™ collaboration technology enables you to connect any inspection site to any decision site in seconds.
Now, any inspector at any site can take vibration measurements on this full-featured vibration analyzer / data collector, view them on a sharp color screen, and then email the vibration data to anyone else: a plant manager, an analyst at a central facility, a consultant—anyone. Right away.
And, using the same handheld system, you can talk about the data on the phone—even make conference calls—and get written information, instructions, repair authorizations, procedures, test result confirmations, or any other information you need verbally over the phone or in the form of email or text messages. Immediately.
No going back to the office. No lugging a laptop around. Response time is dramatically improved, redundant trips are all but eliminated, and the time and cost savings are immense.
This is the future. It’s starting now.

Wind Speed Sensor
|
|
A Solid State 2 dimensional Anemometer, no moving parts wind sensor. The sensor uses a special solid state device to measure wind speed and wind direction based on the temperature differences on the chip surface.
These temperature differences are processed by a microprocessor in the sensor to produce serial output signals indicating wind speed and wind direction.
The sensor base attaches onto a flat surface with 3 bolts and the sensor head clips in to allow easy orientation to north or to the front of the vehicle or vessel in mobile applications."
